Fear of success
If you surveyed any amount of people, I’m sure they would all say they would like to have money and success. Whether they already have it or not, it’s hard to imagine anyone saying, “Nah, I’d rather struggle through life and never have enough.”
Not everyone desires to be rich exactly, but at a level of human need, everyone desires to be safe and to have their basic needs met. Beyond that, many people would also say they desire to have overflow or ABUNDANCE of financial resources to have fun, bless friends and family, and live life with fewer worries.
The funny thing is, of everyone that would say they want to experience abundance in their finances, very few have it. Debt is so normal in our culture. Living paycheck to paycheck is “normal.” There are so many factors to consider that would make this post way too long, like social status, birthplace, the resources available to you, education (or lack thereof), and on and on and on; but one thing we forget to consider is how mindset comes into play with finances.
If you don’t believe you’re a person who is worthy or capable of success, you’ll never have it.
If you don’t educate yourself on how to make, save, invest, and spend money well, it’ll slip through your hands over and over again. We say we want success, but we don’t equip ourselves to handle it when it comes. And it’s inevitably lost.
Listen up: Here’s the truth
You’re a child of God. You were created to live in abundance, not to struggle through life. Sit with God and ask Him how to receive graciously. We’re done pushing blessings away for fear of not being able to handle it, or fear that it will go away. He’s equipping you every day to manage the overflow that’s on its way to you right now.
Try speaking this affirmation out today: I can handle massive success with grace.
Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
“When God gives us dreams, He wants us to change as we chase them. We achieve our dreams by bravely facing the lopsided odds. We might think achieving a dream is the point, but I think for God it’s more about seeing us become more like Jesus with each step we take forward. Of course, He celebrates with us too.
If you’ve been living with a stirring in your soul, it’s time to test your limits. There’s no fast-forward to change. Time grinds slowly forward the same way for all of us. The question is, as a famous poet once said, ‘What do you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?’ Because that is what it is. And that is how God sees you: precious and wildly capable of amazing things.
The sidelines aren’t a place for you anymore. Take a risk. Be bold and courageous. Dream of something only God could accomplish. Decide you’re going to risk much… so God can lead you toward your dream and toward Him.”
