Branding session for my faves @dewskinbar and @scalpdewd 😍 Lydia and I met on IG two years ago and our love has blossomed ever since (thanks for letting me obsess over your wife, Pat) This power couple is bringing the absolute best of skincare and aesthetics to the Phoenix valley. On top of being highly professional and skilled, they are both so kind and friendly and put their clients at total ease. I consider myself lucky to be in their orbit and to have experienced Lydia’s incredible facial treatments on more than one occasion.

For their photos, we wanted a mix of headshots and fun lifestyle images for their websites and social media. How do you think we did?

These two goobs have truly gotten me through training. I feel so lucky to have found friendships like these.

Today brought one big chapter to a close as I completed my commercial single-engine add on rating. Now I go on to CFI school to become a certified flight instructor ⭐️ Building hours to get to the airlines is a long road, but I’m so excited for this next phase of flying from the right seat.

COMMERCIAL PILOT ✅ This one…. did not come easy, to say the least. The delays and setbacks were a constant barrage, and BOY DID I CRY a lot of tears in the last 7 months leading up to this 😅🥲 This is a really great day in so many ways and I’m just so, so grateful.

Next up, single engine add-on then on to flight instructor school!

Homestead Renovation Update # 13 - Moving in!

My twenties were a complete evolution. I saw the

My twenties were a complete evolution.

I saw the world and set foot in more than 30 countries.

I confronted my religion, asked hard questions, and dared to grow.

I got my college degree. I started and ended a few businesses. I changed career paths what feels like a million times.

I made art and music.

I built relationships, lost friends, and made new ones. I met the love of my life.

I became a pilot.

Some years of my twenties felt insignificant. Some days and months felt impossibly hard. Some losses were too big. Sometimes I wasn’t enough, other times, too much.

But every year, there was something to celebrate. Something to be proud of. Something that made me better, aligned me to purpose, fed my soul.

29 has been my greatest challenge and most extensive change. This has been the year of building.

We bought a house! We moved, but not together. We called each other every day and got pretty dang tired of the phone.

My career changed again. I opened to the logical side of myself. I decided it’s ok to be an artist and also like talking about aerodynamics.

I’m ready to be 30. I mean, I have to be, because it’s here. But I’m so proud of who I’ve become and so confident in the choices that have led me here.

Looking forward, there’s the vastness of possibility. But looking behind, there’s a full, vibrant life.

We’re trying to move in to the house before my 3

We’re trying to move in to the house before my 30th birthday this weekend 🫣 Think we can do it?

This is a big update on our homestead renovation - LOTS has changed over the past few weeks. It’s finally starting to look like the house we’ve envisioned.

So what’s left to finish? The biggest pieces:

The kitchen. Floors and walls are done, but we need to paint and install the cabinets, connect appliances, and hook up the lights. Countertops and backsplash will come later, after everything else.

The first floor bathroom. We have a plumber coming today to hook up our vanity sinks (turning a previously one-sink bath into two) and I’m wrapping up my tile project. Just some paint touch ups after that.

Baseboards. Everywhere. Now that the floors are done, we’ll finish installing all of the floor trim.

There are a few other projects to complete eventually, like repainting the exterior, installing a pantry door and closet shelves, possibly adding crown molding to cover imperfections in the drywall, but all of that can wait.

We’ll continue working on the house once we’ve moved in, and in the meantime we have one fully functional bathroom, electricity, and running water. All the essentials to start moving in furniture!

Dreams change. I never gave a single thought to be

Dreams change. I never gave a single thought to becoming a pilot until I was 26 years old and working as a flight attendant. I was scrolling through a Facebook group one day and saw a post from another female flight attendant: She was leaving her job to start flight school and become a pilot. The post had this cute picture of her wearing her FA uniform with a captain’s hat on her head and a huge smile on her face. I could feel the excitement in her caption and her photo and I thought, I could do that too.

It only took a month to get myself up in my first discovery flight, but it took nearly three years after that for me to commit to a flight school and actually start working on my pilot certifications. I was terrified of the cost, the commitment, and of leaving behind a job I really loved. When I envisioned what I wanted for my future though, what I hoped my life would look like in 5 or 10 or 40 years, I knew that I had to take this huge leap if I was ever going to have the life I truly wanted.

Becoming a pilot is not easy. Going through an accelerated part 141 program is one of the mentally toughest things I’ve ever done. But at 29 years old I’m a pilot now, and I’m so f*cking proud of that girl I was four years ago. She wanted something big and she started reaching out and grasping for it even when she couldn’t see the clear way to get there.

Just start, friend. Where could you be in one year or four years or longer if today was day one?
